PowerPoint Handout Accessibility Info
The ATOMS Project has decided to distribute PowerPoint handouts electronically in their native file format, as a balance between rapid presentation development and our commitment to accessibility. We recognize that this decision has its tradeoffs, just as publishing the slides to HTML has some tradeoffs.
The PowerPoint slides on this site can be viewed with:
- Microsoft PowerPoint 97, 2000, and XP/2002 for Windows
- Microsoft PowerPoint 98, 2001, and X for Macintosh
- Microsoft PowerPoint Viewer 97 for Windows
- PowerPoint Viewer 98 for Macintosh
- Other third party software/viewers
Please note that the Microsoft PowerPoint Viewers do not allow the user to view the "Speaker Notes," which is where text alternatives and explanations for graphics are stored in our slides. Users who would like to view the speaker notes or need them for accessibility (e.g. when using a screen reader) will need a full version of PowerPoint or third party software that displays the speaker notes.
