Definitions for Commonly Used Terms in the RSA-911 & RT Graphing

Serviced
The ATOMS Project team selected this term as a way to concisely identify the group of closed cases that were coded as receiving vocational rehabilitation services from those who did not. This analysis focused on the serviced cases because they contain data about whether rehabilitationt technology was provided. In general, the cases that closed prior to qualifying for or receiving services did not include data about rehabilitation technology. The cases in the "serviced" group are made up of the "Successful" and "Unsuccessful" cases.
Successful
The ATOMS Project team selected this term as a way to simply refer to the group of closed cases that were determined eligible, received services and achieved an employment outcome. This is commonly referred to in vocational rehabilitation lingo as a "26". The group identified by this term is a major sub-group of the term "Serviced." The cases in the "successful" group had a reason for closure in the RSA-911 indicated by a "3" in both the PD-95-04 (p42, field 38, RP12) and PD-00-06 (p36, field 36, RP198).
Unsuccessful
The ATOMS Project team selected this term as a way to simply refer to the group of closed cases that were determined eligible and received services, but did not achieve an employment outcome. Cases in this group at least had a "individualized written rehabilitation program" (PD-95-04) or an "IPE" (PD-00-06) in place but may or may not have had it initiated. The group identified by this term is the other major sub-group of the term "Serviced." The cases in the "unsuccessful" group had a reason for closure in the RSA-911 indicated by a "4" or a "5" in both the PD-95-04 (p42, field 38, RP12) and PD-00-06 (p36, field 36, RP198).
