Beginning on the left side of the photograph is white refrigerator along the back wall. Resting on the floor in front of the refrigerator is the kitchen sink waiting for installation. To the right of the refrigerator, is a white dishwasher with a yellow sales tag still attached to the front. To the right of the dishwasher, is the wooden framed-in area where the sink will be installed. Above the sink area, is a rectangular window pane that is open to the outside, but does not yet have curtains or a frame. In the middle of the kitchen, in front of the sink area is an island table. A stove top that is uncovered, but has four burners and knobs on it, is on top of a wooden counter with one thick, sturdy wooden side holding it up. The other side of the stove and counter is another large wooden countertop and cabinet structure with an upper and lower piece. In front of the island is a small wooden stool with four legs. On the right side of the photograph, several large, white pipes and a red hot water tank are attached to the ceiling and span the entire length of the right corner, from the floor to the ceiling. A washing machine and dryer also appear to be in the corner among the pipes. A few outlets are on the back and right side walls. The walls of the kitchen are bare and the floor is covered in a protective pink, paper-thin cover with white strips of tape. The paper cover is torn away in the center piece of floor that surrounds the island, revealing a gray cement floor underneath. A single wire hangs from the ceiling, in a hook shape. On the ceiling closer to the pipes, a white fan or heating duct has been installed.
